Books I’ll Probably Never Read Tag

Look at me, blogging on a semi regular basis! Thank you so much to the amazing Orangutan Librarian who is all kinds of awesome, although she definitely doesn’t need the publicity ๐Ÿ˜œ.

Bring on the wall questions!

A Really Hyped Book Youโ€™re Not Interested in Reading?

I really feel like a lot of YA fiction at the moment is really not for me – as I’ve said before, I’m too old for that shit. Also, I’ve never been remotely interested in Disney so maybe the Lunar Chronicles? (even though that’s actually what my broken leg looks like inside).

A Series You Wonโ€™t Start/Wonโ€™t Be Finishing?

I like to think that I’ll finish all of the series that I’ve started, although I expect that I’ll continue to bump the Wheel of Time books down my TBR, especially when I get to the ones that aren’t even written by Robert Jordan.

A Classic That Youโ€™re Just Not Interested In?

If I’m honest – most of them? I’m really not a classics fan. I was put off Shakespeare for life by my schoolteachers so maybe one of his plays like King Lear.

Any Genres You’ve Never Read?

(Well, that Google search threw up a lot of interesting images)

Ummm, I don’t think so? I like to read as widely as possible and I’ll pretty much give anything a go.

A Book On Your Shelves You’ll Probably Never Actually Read?

Well, I was only saying to someone yesterday (whose name I have totally forgotten, sorry!) that I’m kind of scared of Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. It looks so complicated and loads of people have said how the writing style is really difficult to get into, it’s hard to work out who is talking, it’s really slow to begin with…and yet so many people love it. I keep putting it off, and that’s never a good sign with me.

I tag anyone who wants to take part, but especially LizDani and Christina

Are there any books you don’t think you’ll ever read? Let me know!

  1. Anyone could be easily excused for not finishing the Eye Of The World Series. That was an exhausting marathon and I found, every time a new volume came out, that Iโ€™d already forgotten too much back story. Cheers, Brian

  2. Aww thank you for the lovely shout-out! ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ’• Yeah I hear you about taking a step back from ya- though I’m clearly not completely stopping with it, I’m definitely getting more selective about it and trying to not read any of the generic stuff. I’m never finishing wheel of time either. And yeah I’m scared of wolf hall too- especially since I wasn’t crazy about opening when I picked it up. BUT I also recently heard that it’s hard to get into, but gets so much better- I’m pretty keen to read it now tbh. Awesome answers!!

    1. No problem my lovely ๐Ÿ˜Š. Surely you could whizz through the whole wheel of time series in about a week ๐Ÿ˜‰? I’m warming to the idea of wolf hall – I remember starting GofT and hating having so many characters to follow and struggling to keep up with how fast the dialogue changed between them all – but that turned out pretty well! Thank you for tagging me! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’šโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›
