So it seems I’ve reached that magic number of 1337 likes on my blog. What a super weird thing to congratulate me on.
So, ummm, yay me?
I’m slightly suspicious that WordPress has realised they haven’t sent any kind of encouragement to me for quite a while, so now I’ve got a “well done for trying!” badge. Is this the equivalent of a digital wooden spoon award?
Has anyone else had a congratulatory message for a totally random number? Or is it just me?

I got this too – for 1337 likes as well. I posted on twitter that I thought it was really weird but no one had an explanation.

Hmm. That is odd, but still…Yay You! I haven’t gotten any kind of notifications from them except the occasional one saying my traffic is “booming”.🤷🏻♀️

1337 is ‘internet speak’ for leet. Leet is a meme used in the computer coding community, and since used a lot by the gaming community. It comes from the word elite and tends to be used in an ironic way. So for instance, after winning an online game of something you can ironically refer to yourself as 1337. 😀

It’s not random, haha. It’s tech geek lingo. 1337 spells “leet” which is short for Elite. In other words, congrats on making it to Elite status in the blogging world. 😄
